4th Season Sports:

There has been an update to the girls' tennis schedule for Monday, 5/21.

Varsity will not have a match, they will have practice from 2:45-3:45.

JV will have an away match against Kamiakin. The match will be held at Kamiakin.





Athletic Information

A student will be eligible to participate in a sport when meeting the following requirements:

  • Has no outstanding fines or fees.
  • Purchases an ASB card ($25, once a school year).
  • The LWSD Sports Participation Fee is paid.
    • Fee is $75 per sport
    • There is a maximum cap of $150 per student and $225 per family
  • All of the required forms are turned in to the school office. Please print the forms below, fill them out and return them to the office athletic secretary. (Required forms found on Pg 10-11 of "Athletics Full Packet" below)
    • Emergency Contact Form
    • Up to date physical examination form filled out by a doctor
Students will not be able to participate or attend practice until they present a clearance card to the coach. Students are given a clearance card when the following items have been received by the school:
  • Sports Physical Form
  • Emergency Contact Form
  • Sports Payment Fee
  • Purchase of ASB Card

Athletic Scholarships- EMS offers a limited number of sport scholarships (covering all or a portion of the sport fee) to students who are on our district’s Free and Reduced Lunch Program, or those families experiencing a hardship. The Principal will review and evaluate all requests to try to best support all our students’ needs.

Girls' Badminton - head coach: Susan Jackson

Want to make some new friends, have some FUN, and learn how to play (or improve) your badminton skills? C’mon and join the Girls’ Badminton Team! You don’t have to have any badminton experience or know how to play the game to be part of the team—we’ll teach you! All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls are invited to join. Watch Evergreen’s website this summer for information on the first day practice. Practice right after school
WHAT YOU’LL NEED FOR BADMINTON:
· Gym shorts, shorts, or sweatpants for practice (wear something you can move in)
· T-shirt or sweatshirt for practice (we’ll provide you with a game jersey)
· Some type of gym or tennis shoes (with laces)
We’ll supply the other equipment you’ll need, like a badminton racket and birdies. Remember, no badminton experience is needed! Come join us for tons of fun!

Boys' Tennis - head coach: Zac Dowling
Come out for some fun on the tennis courts this fall. Watch Evergreen’s website for information on the first day of practice. Please come dressed and ready to play on the first day. We will have a brief meeting and then we will hit the courts. Practices are right after school.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR TENNIS:
· Water bottle
· Shorts or sweatpants (no jeans)- must be something you can move in
· T-shirt, tennis polo or sweatshirt
· Tennis shoes (no skater shoes)
· Tennis racquet (we do have some that you can use if needed)

Boys' and Girls' Cross Country (XC)

Evergreen has a strong tradition of great runners; come be part of that legacy!
-XC is a Chess game running 2 miles through woods, across fields, & around trees.
-Practices are right after school (2:45-4:30, M,T,Th,F). Please come dressed and ready to participate on the first day. We will have a brief meeting and then we will head outside.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR CROSS COUNTRY:
Dress for the weather! We go outside pretty much regardless of weather.
*Running shoes (NOT basketball, skater, or soccer shoes)
*Shirts with "wicking" material: drylete, polypro (not cotton)
*Running Shorts, Tights, or Sweatpants (not cotton)
*Reusable Water Bottle
*Recommended: a watch with a "chronograph"/stopwatch OR smartphone
app with a protective sleeve/carrier.
*A great Team Spirit, and a sense of Adventure! Schedules will be provided by the individual coaches once the season starts.


2nd Season Sports

Second Season Sports include:
Basketball - Boys' (7th & 8th)
Basketball - Girls' (6th, 7th, & 8th)

*Attention all 2nd season basketball players. The first practice for basketball is on Monday, 10/30. Boys basketball will meet in the gym right after school for practice, which runs from 2:45 - 4:00. Girls basketball will meet in the library right after school. Girls practice will run from 4:00-5:15.

All athletes will need to pick up their green clearance card on Monday and bring it to practice, make sure you stop by the office on Monday and pick it up.

Athletes need to bring athletic clothes, basketball shoes or good athletic shoes, a water bottle, and a snack.

Athletes who have late practice will wait in the library until their practice starts.

Parents need to arrange a ride home for their child after practice. There will be a bus to away games which all athletes are required to ride. They may be picked up from the away games by their parent only unless prior arrangements have been made with the coach.

3rd Season Sports

3rd Season Sports include:
Volleyball - 7th and 8th Grade Girls'
Wrestling - Boys' and Girls'


Athletes need to bring athletic clothes, athletic shoes for volleyball or wrestling shoes, a water bottle, and a snack.

Parents need to arrange a ride home for their child after practice. There will be a bus to away games which all athletes are required to ride. They may be picked up from the away games by their parent only unless prior arrangements have been made with the coach. Please pick your athlete up on time. Coaches are required to supervise all athletes until they have been picked up from the school.

Schedules:

Schedules will be provided by the individual coaches once the season starts.

4th Season Sports

4th Season Sports:
Track - Boys' and Girls'
Tennis - Girls'
Basketball - Boys' (6th grade)
Volleyball - Girls' (6th grade)

*Important note: Even if a student has played a sport earlier this school year, they still need to check in with the front office and let them know they intend on participating in 4th season sports. Doing this allows an accurate roster for coaches.

Remember that participation in eight practices is required before athletes are eligible to participate in their first game, match, or meet.
Parents, please pick your athletes up as soon as practice ends. Coaches are only responsible for supervising their athletes for 15 minutes after the end of practice. After that time, any athletes not picked up will be escorted to the office where they will be supervised by Mr. Johnson to ensure that they are safe.

There will be a bus to away games which all athletes are required to ride. They may be picked up from the away games by their parent only unless prior arrangements have been made with the coach.
Athletes need to bring appropriate shoes/clothing, water bottle, and snack for each sport.
