Several Lake Washington School District (LWSD) students came home with an award after the 2026 Washington State Science and Engineering Fair (WSSEF).

Lake Washington School District (LWSD) teams performed very well at the Washington Science Olympiad State Tournament. The first place team in each division comes from one of our LWSD schools!

Nearly 350,000 works were submitted for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards this year. Only about 2,500 students nationwide received national medals and two of those students are from Lake Washington School District (LWSD).

How do you get middle school students excited about reading? Make it a competition! Students from all the middle schools around the district competed in the district’s 11th annual “Battle of the Books” event on March 24.

Evergreen Middle School eighth grader Ananya Nimmagadda has been selected to receive the Lovis Extraordinary Student Award from The Lovis Foundation, an honor that recognizes students in grades 5 through 8 who show exceptional compassion, leadership and community impact.
