EMS students learn about emergency response from RFD

On June 10, the Redmond Fire Department visited a health class at Evergreen Middle School to reinforce the importance of learning to perform CPR and how it supports the emergency response. Students in seventh and ninth grade health classes throughout Lake Washington School District learn CPR and how to use Automated External Defibrillator (AEDs). Health teachers are trained to teach CPR through a partnership and grant from King County Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Students practice hands-on skills with manikins and AED trainers. The fire fighters answered questions about their jobs, emergency response and how students can promote safety in their community.
